At approximately 9:30 a.m., the pair began their hike from the KĂĽhweger Alm through the Garnitzenklamm, aiming to reach a valley inn for lunch. Around 10:30 a.m., the 59-year-old slipped on the damp, narrow path, plummeting about 15 meters (approximately 50 feet) into the Garnitzklamm’s stream bed. His friend was unable to grab him in time.
Emergency Response and Recovery
