It’s vital to note that it isn’t magnetically compatible with all MagSafe/Qi2 accessories.The 4800dpi optical mouse doesn’t adhere to iPhones or Samsung galaxy devices. While it exhibits a slight attraction to fridges and metal rings designed for magnetic accessories, ESR advises against using it with these rings.

The ESR Ecosystem: Docking Pad Required

The MagMouse is primarily designed for use with ESR’s magnetic laptop docking pad. this pad features two pins that secure the mouse, providing a stable perch. However,it’s crucial to note that the magnetic connection isn’t strong enough to use the mouse as a handle or to open a stiff laptop lid.

The MagMouse raises questions about its magnetic implementation. Why not incorporate wireless charging or broader compatibility with existing MagSafe accessories? the current design, which relies heavily on ESR’s proprietary docking pad, may limit its appeal for some users.

But if you’re a MagSafe accessory vendor building a magnetic mouse, why not go all the way? why not make your mouse charge wirelessly and magnetically, too, or at least stick brilliantly to the entire ecosystem of magnetic ring gadgets instead of a thick pad?

Alternatives, such as attaching a steel ring to a laptop, could offer greater versatility by allowing the attachment of other gadgets like MagSafe SSDs.

Alternative Magnetic solutions

The MagMouse demonstrates strong adhesion to alternative magnetic solutions, such as the Shinewee double magnet ring.

I am happy to report, tho, that there are additional ways to strongly stick it to stuff: the MagMouse sticks beautifully to my Shinewee double magnet ring.
