A total lunar eclipse will be visible across the Czech Republic on Sunday evening, offering a stunning celestial display. Western bohemia may experience more high cloud cover, perhaps obscuring the view, while eastern regions are forecast to have clearer skies for optimal viewing.
The eclipse will occur as the Earth passes between the Sun and Moon, casting a shadow and turning the lunar surface a reddish hue. Temperatures across the country are expected to fall to between 17 and 12 °C during the event, with light or no wind. Observers are advised to dress warmly, particularly those venturing outside to remote locations for a better vantage point.
According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, the best viewing conditions are anticipated in the eastern half of the republic. The clear or partly cloudy skies will allow for an unobstructed observation of the eclipse in its entirety.
