Ludlow Castle Comedy Festival experienced a temporary halt on Sunday evening as attendees and performers were evacuated from the historic grounds due to the threat of lightning. The disruption, which lasted approximately two hours, led to adjusted set times and the cancellation of some performances, but the show ultimately resumed and concluded with minimal delay.

Comedians including Ivo Graham and festival host Stephen Bailey were among those seen leaving the venue.Joel Dommett, known for presenting ITV’s The Masked Singer, was also evacuated.

The festival, which is part of the Live at Ludlow Castle series, had initially anticipated heavy rain around 4 p.m., with forecasts suggesting a brief 15-minute duration. However, the safety concern shifted to lightning, prompting the evacuation.
