Chanet Tangwan saen Maintains Lead at LPGA Queen City Championship Presented by Croker
MENVILLE, Ohio – Chanet Tangwan Saen of Thailand continues to lead at the LPGA Women’s Golf Tournament Tour’s Queen City Championship Presented by Croker, holding a two-stroke advantage after the second round concluded Saturday morning, Thailand time. The tournament,held at TPC Reverbe (Par 72,6,876 yards),features a $2 million (approximately 63.3 million baht) prize purse.
The Queen City Championship is a key event on the LPGA Tour, attracting top golfers from around the globe and offering meaningful world ranking points and prize money. A strong performance here can substantially impact a player’s season standings and potential qualification for major championships. The competition concludes Sunday, with Chanet aiming to secure her first LPGA Tour victory.
Chanet carded a second-round 4-under 68, bringing her two-day total to 13-under 131. She is followed closely by a group of players at 11-under 133, including fellow Thai golfer Athaya Thitikul, England’s Charlie Hull, and Germany’s Olivia Cowan.
Chanet highlighted an eagle at the par-4 13th hole as a key moment in her round. “I like myself to play with fun,” she said. “Today’s field is soft like a practice cycle. Would like to thank Jan Jan (wichanee Michai) for helping as a guide to play. Make it more confident.”
Other Thai competitors and their standings include: Porn Anong Phet Lum (T31 at 5-under 139),Jarawi boonchan and Jasmine Suwannapura (T42 at 4-under 140),Apichaya (T51 at 3-under 141),and Paphangkorn Thawathanakit (T63 at 2-under 142). Wichanee Michai did not make the cut, finishing at 2-over 146.
