Dr. Houm brings more than 25 years of experience to St. Luke’s. She describes herself as a compassionate and dedicated board-certified pediatrician skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric conditions. Her focus includes promoting wellness, preventive care, and building strong relationships with patients and their families.

I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where I have practiced medicine for my entire career.I have two adult daughters and enjoy painting, cross-stitching, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Emily R. Otto, CRNP

Emily R. Otto has been a nurse for more than 20 years, working in various inpatient and outpatient settings within the St. Luke’s University Health Network and beyond. She emphasizes the importance of connection with her patients, especially children.

As a nurse practitioner, I feel so fortunate to be part of the pediatric care team that helps my patient’s families make healthy decisions and establish routines.

Otto, who raised her three sons in palmerton, understands the challenges of balancing family and individual needs. She is particularly passionate about mental health and dedicated to understanding its underlying causes, working collaboratively with families to develop effective long-term care plans.
