Lithuanian Team Fails to Medal at European Championships

Lithuania Relegated from european Athletics Team Championship First Division

Vilnius, Lithuania – June 30, 2025 – Lithuania’s athletics team has been relegated from the First Division of the European Athletics Team Championship, finishing in 16th and last place with 178.5 points. This marks the nation’s first-ever appearance in the elite division of the competition. [[1]]

Italy successfully defended their championship title,securing first place with 431.5 points, followed by Poland (405.5) and Germany (397) taking silver and bronze respectively. finland and Ukraine also suffered relegation alongside Lithuania.

Despite the team’s overall result, individual Lithuanian athletes achieved notable performances. Liveta Jasiūnaitė secured a commendable result in the javelin throw, achieving a personal best of 58.88 meters and earning 14 points for the national team. She finished behind Elina Tzengko of Greece (62.23m) and Maria Andrejczyk of poland (60.42m).

Edis Matusevičius also delivered a strong performance in the javelin, recording a season-best throw of 78.26 meters.
