Lidl-Trek is positioning itself to compete with cycling’s elite “super teams,” including powerhouses like UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Visma-Lease a Bike, Ineos Grenadiers, and Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe.
Teh team has already made meaningful acquisitions as Lidl’s involvement, notably securing top sprinter Jonathan Milan. Milan has achieved two stage victories at the Tour de France and is currently in contention for the green jersey. Further bolstering their capabilities, Lidl-Trek has announced plans to establish a “state-of-the-art Performance Center.” This facility will be dedicated to athlete health, recovery, and performance analysis, aiming to enhance decision-making and ultimately improve rider performance by catering to individual needs. The team’s ambition is clearly set on reaching the highest echelons of the sport.
