Liam Gallagher Condemns Flare-Throwing Incident at melbourne Oasis Concert
liam Gallagher has publicly denounced a fan who set off flares during the opening night of Oasis’s Australian tour at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. The incident, which occurred during the band’s debut Australian concert, prompted the singer to issue a scathing rebuke on social media, expressing his anger and disappointment.
The flare-throwing incident has raised concerns about stadium security and prompted an inquiry, though local authorities report the event was not formally reported to police. While no injuries were reported, the disruption caused alarm among concertgoers, including one attendee who told Australian outlet news.com.au she considered leaving with her family after witnessing the flares.
Witness Virginia described seeing two flares ignited in quick succession, each appearing as a burst of fire quickly contained by stadium personnel. “Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly,” she said. “I was there with my 13-year-old daughter, so once that went off, I thought it was bad and thought we’ll just leave before the end of the song and try and get outside.”
Despite security checks, including bag searches and scans, it remains unclear how the flares were brought into the venue. Marvel Stadium confirmed to 9 News that no one was harmed and deferred further comment to Gallagher’s social media statement. Victoria Police stated they were not notified of the incident and made no arrests.
