Leo High School Choir Reaches ‘America’s Got Talent‘ Finale
The Leo high School choir, a South Side Catholic school for boys, will compete in the finale of “America’s Got Talent” after advancing through the live semifinals on Tuesday night, September 10, 2025. The choir was among six acts moving forward based on public votes, as announced Wednesday night in an Instagram post from the show.
The choir’s semifinal performance featured a rendition of Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries.” Judges praised the group’s growth and impact.”You guys literally tear at my heartstrings as I can see how much this means to you… That was brilliant. Brilliant,” said judge Mel B. Sofia Vergara added, “I think you guys make being in a choir the most cool thing in the world. I mean, I forget you’re a choir,” while Simon Cowell stated, “I think this act might be the act that has progressed the most… I just really, really, really, really like you.”
A $1 million grand prize awaits the winner.
Prior to their national exposure on “AGT,” the choir had established local recognition with performances at the Democratic National Convention in the summer of 2024, Millennium Park’s Holiday Sing-Along in December 2024, and a Black History Month event for the city of Chicago. Show scouts discovered the choir through an Instagram video of their singing, originally posted by CBS Chicago in early 2024.
The choir will perform a final time on the ”America’s Got Talent” stage next week.
