JSPS Swimmers Dominate Latvian Championships with Gold, Silver, and Bronze

Riga, Latvia – Junior Sports School (JSPS) swimmers showcased their talent at the recent Latvian Swimming Championships, bringing home an impressive haul of medals. Nicholas deichman,coached by Astra Ozolina,clinched gold in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 1:56.84 minutes. Kristīne Zinoviča, under the guidance of Inga Arnīte-Puikevica, secured the title of Latvian champion in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 29.26 seconds. While Zinoviča finished second including foreign athletes, her performance earned her the national title.

The JSPS Women’s Team, consisting of K. Zinoviča, H. Serzhane, U. Miller, and A. Geraseva, also secured a gold medal in the 4 × 100-meter combined relay with a time of 4:23.49 minutes.

Silver Medals Abound

JSPS swimmers also demonstrated their strength by winning eight silver medals. H. Serzhane secured second place in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:03.98 minutes. Vitaly Kuzina earned silver in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:25.98 minutes. K. zinoviča added another silver to her collection in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:04.70 minutes.

Nicholas Deichman also secured silver medals in the 200-meter freestyle (2:01.28 minutes) and 100-meter backstroke (53.51 seconds). The JSPS men’s team (Y. Orbidāns, R. Vilciņš, R. Sondors, N. Deichman) won silver in the 4 × 200-meter freestyle relay (7:44.80 minutes), and another JSPS men’s team (N. Deichman,K. won silver in the 4 × 100-meter combined relay (3:45.08 minutes). The JSPS women’s team (A. Geraseva, H. Serzane, U. Miller, K. Zinovich) also secured silver in the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay (4:01.80 minutes).

Bronze Medals Add to the Tally

Rounding out the medal count, JSPS swimmers earned three bronze awards. J. Aorbidan secured bronze in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:55.65 minutes. U. Millere won bronze in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:45.17 minutes. The JSPS men’s team (K. N.Deičman) also secured bronze in the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay with a time of 3:26.34 minutes.
