Nevada Senator Detained in Las Vegas on Suspicion of DUI
Las Vegas, NV – Nevada State Senator Edgar Florest was briefly detained by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police early on the morning of September 12th after being found unresponsive in his vehicle at a red light in northeast Las Vegas. The incident has sparked scrutiny and a pending legal review.
According to police reports, officers discovered Senator Florest in a Jeep Wrangler with the ignition on, the vehicle in drive, and his legs positioned in the backseat.Officers attempted to wake him with lights and by opening the driver’s side door before resorting to knocking on the window.Florest reportedly appeared unconscious initially,only regaining awareness when roused by police.
