Space scientists have announced a new achievement: the finding of the integration of the largest black holes ever monitored using gravitational waves.
The new discovery came after the success of the cooperation of the gravitational wave detection devices, “LIGO-Virgo-Kagra” (LVK), using the “LIGO” Observatory in Hanford and Livingston, in the United States.
According to the “Nauchaya Rossiya” portal,the merger led to the formation of a black hole with a mass 225 times that of the sun.
The mass of the integrated black hole was about 100 and 140 times larger than the sun’s mass. In addition to its large mass, it also rotates quickly, which makes this sign unique and difficult to explain, indicating the possibility of a complex formation history.
