Explorers Swim Teams Achieve Five Program​ Records ⁢At Queens Fall Frenzy

NEW YORK ⁣- The La Salle University⁣ swimming​ and diving ​teams ⁢delivered a dominant performance⁤ at the‌ Queens Fall ‌Frenzy this weekend, shattering five program records and achieving one ‌NCAA Division ‌I Standard while finishing fifth overall out of 10 teams with a combined‌ 1,353 points. The women’s team secured third place‌ with 795 points, ⁢and the men’s team finished seventh ⁣with 558 points.

The four-day competition saw the ⁢Explorers reach new heights, highlighted by standout‌ individual efforts and relay ⁣success. ⁢Senior Felix Jedbratt⁢ led the charge, winning the 100-yd butterfly in 45.46 – an NCAA Division I Standard and the sole qualifying mark for ⁢La Salle at the event. This time also established a new⁣ Atlantic 10, program, and conference record. Jedbratt also⁤ clocked a 19.52 ⁣in the 50-yd freestyle​ and anchored multiple top-five relay⁢ finishes for the men’s team.

Junior‌ carter Perkins⁢ also contributed to ⁤the men’s success,setting a new program record in the ⁢200-yd freestyle​ with a time of 1:36.11. On the women’s side, senior Gabriela Herbreder recorded a ‌50.2 lead-off in‍ the 400-yd free relay, establishing a new program record, and finished fourth in the 400-yd⁤ IM ​with⁣ a time of 4:23.87.

Sophomore⁣ Beren celik achieved la Salle’s top individual women’s result, earning a silver medal in the 200-yd breaststroke (2:18.65)⁢ and placing fifth in ⁣the 100-yd breaststroke⁢ (1:02.47). Senior ‍Rosalia‌ Marin Martinez ​contributed in the⁣ 200-yd IM (2:08.53) and played a vital role in the relays. The⁤ women’s team⁢ also set program records in the 200- and 400-yd medley relays, with the ​team of Herbreder, senior ‍Carlota Ungo, sophomore Camilla Frost, and⁣ senior Tori Fenn achieving the record-breaking times.

La Salle will ​next compete in a home ‌tri-meet, hosting UMass and⁢ Rhode Island ⁤on Saturday, Dec.⁢ 6 ⁢at 11 a.m. at ⁢Kirk Pool.
