A web of hidden connections is emerging in the Turkish drama La Forza di una Donna (The Strength of a Woman), as lawyer Kismet Avci’s past comes under scrutiny. Avci, the half-sister of Arif Kara, is secretly in contact with Cem Kurtas, the new employer of central characters Bahar Kara, Ceyda Ilgaz, and Bersan Şaş, despite publicly feigning ignorance of his identity.
The connection between Kismet and Cem surfaced as Ceyda and Bahar became entangled in a precarious financial arrangement orchestrated by Bersan. Facing economic hardship whereas caring for her young son Arda, Ceyda agreed to a seemingly simple job offered by Bersan: preparing and delivering meals to various addresses provided by Cem, in exchange for substantial payment. Bahar subsequently became involved in the deliveries.
Although, the seemingly straightforward task quickly revealed a darker undercurrent. During one delivery, Bahar and Ceyda narrowly avoided police intervention, witnessing the arrest of individuals to whom they were delivering food. This incident prompted them to suspect Cem’s involvement in illegal activities and attempt to extricate themselves from the arrangement. Cem, however, revealed that Bahar and Ceyda were indebted to him with 400,000 Turkish lira due to their failure to prevent the food deliveries from being intercepted by law enforcement.
Ceyda, Bahar, and Bersan identify themselves compelled to carry out further tasks for Cem, effectively operating under duress. Bahar was tasked with attending a charity gala under an assumed identity to deliver a handbag to a specific woman. It was at this event that Bahar discovered the recipient of the handbag was Kismet, confirming a pre-existing relationship between the two women and raising questions about the nature of their connection.
Following the encounter, Bahar confronted Kismet at her law office, seeking answers. Kismet dismissed the incident, claiming she was the victim of a fraud and that the handbag was supposed to contain information relevant to a case she was handling.
Subsequently, Kismet visited Cem at his car dealership, demanding he cease any involvement with Bahar, citing the well-being of Bahar’s children. Cem, however, remained unfazed, redirecting the conversation to Kismet’s new relationship with Emre Yazici, expressing his disapproval of the pairing.
Prior to her departure from Turkey, Kismet gifted Arif a house and a car as a wedding present for him and Bahar. She also reportedly reconciled with Cem before leaving the country, suggesting a complex and potentially ongoing relationship between the two.
