Kyra green and Cashel Barnett: A Timeline of Their Tumultuous Relationship
The pairing of Kyra Green and Cashel Barnett on the U.S. version of Love Island was one of the season’s moast surprising developments. Kyra initially chose to leave the show, hoping to explore a potential connection with cashel after previously sending him home.However, her return was met with the news that Cashel had already begun pursuing another contestant. Despite this initial setback,the musically inclined couple briefly reconciled,only to ultimately part ways.
Their relationship experienced a brief resurgence by the end of November 2019, but the reconciliation proved short-lived. Kyra and Cashel officially ended their relationship for good in February 2020. Cashel reflected on the split during an appearance on the #NoFilter podcast, stating, “We had a good go. I think we’re just in different places in our lives…I think she blocked my number, to be honest.”

Though, the narrative took a darker turn in May 2025 when Cashel Barnett was arrested in Utah on charges of domestic violence and assault, according to publicly available court records. Further charges of assault and domestic violence were filed against him the following month.
Barnett has denied the allegations. his attorney, Andrew K. Deesing, released a statement to NBC News, saying, “My client and his family are enduring an incredibly difficult time, and we hope that his privacy will be respected as we work diligently to defend his name and reputation. Obviously, we’re in the very early stages of this and don’t have any further comment at this time.”
