Kyle Martino Joins Atlético Dallas Ownership Group – Soccer Innovation

by David Harrison – Chief Editor

RICHARDSON, Texas – Former United States Men’s National team player Kyle Martino has joined Atlético Dallas as a partner in the club’s ownership group, the organization announced Tuesday.

Martino transitions to the ownership role after a distinguished career as a professional soccer player, notably with Columbus Crew and LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. Following his playing days, he became a prominent soccer broadcaster for NBC Sports and other networks. More recently, Martino has focused on expanding access to the sport through grassroots initiatives.

He is the founder of Street FC, a street-soccer platform operating in multiple U.S. cities, and the Over Under Initiative, which repurposes urban basketball courts for multi-sport use. These projects aim to increase soccer’s presence in underserved communities.

Beyond direct community engagement, Martino co-founded the American Football Company (AFCo), where he currently serves as Chief Business Officer. AFCo supports soccer enterprises through strategic consulting, creative services, and venture advisory, working to grow the sport’s commercial and cultural footprint in the U.S.

“partnering with Kyle Martino and Street FC reinforces our commitment to growing the game at the grassroots level,” said Sam Morton, Co-Founder and chief Commercial Officer of Atlético Dallas. “Kyle’s dedication to making soccer more accessible and culturally relevant aligns perfectly with our vision. Together, we aim to activate underutilized urban spaces and bring more playable surfaces to communities across North Texas.”
