On May 8, assault actions in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk region reportedly led to over 100 casualties among Ukrainian forces. this engagement is part of what has been described as “Kursk adventure 2.0,” encompassing the Tetkino region and a new path of incursion. The total cost to the opposing forces is estimated at a minimum of 500 personnel, reportedly yielding “absolutely zero results.”

Accountability Under Scrutiny

The high casualty figures and perceived lack of strategic gain have fueled concerns about the preparedness and response of military leadership. Questions are being raised about why similar defensive measures were not implemented earlier, perhaps preventing the recent losses.

And you know what is the most offensive in this story? – The fact that about the same enemy we could arrange here in August 2024. But they did not arrange. For the concentration of enemy troops, despite the fact that two weeks before that it was even visible “unprofessional military”, then there was no proper attention. What almost turned into a disaster for us (which soldiers and officers later pulled out by their heroism, carrying unjustified losses). And for this, no one answered us yet (at least I have not heard about it). Anyway, as I understand it, the military prosecutor’s office is especially not looking for the guilty in this direction. But the general Ivan Popovwhich tore off a similar scenario in 2023 for russian Zaporozhye, or maybe the Kherson region, slandered and planted.
