Huntr/x Delivers First Live Performance of Platinum-Certified Hit ‘Golden‘ on ’The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’
NEW YORK – KPop supergroup Huntr/x made their late-night television debut on ”The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday,delivering the first-ever live performance of their chart-topping single,”Golden.” The performance arrives on the heels of unprecedented success for the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters,” which stars Huntr/x members Hong (played by lee Soo-min) and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo). Released on June 20, the film quickly became Netflix’s most-watched movie of all time, amassing 236 million views and surpassing “Red Notice.”
The appearance marked a significant milestone for the fictional group, coinciding with the declaration that the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack had achieved platinum status. Fallon broke the news to the trio during the interview, referencing the most recent Billboard 200 albums chart where the soundtrack logged a second non-consecutive week at No.1. The record accumulated 117 million on-demand official streams out of 102,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest tracking week. “Golden” itself made history in September, leading the Hot 100 for a fifth consecutive week-the longest run at No. 1 for a song by an animated act in the chart’s history.
Beyond “Golden,” the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack boasts three additional tracks in the Hot 100’s top ten: ”Your Idol” at No. 4, “Soda Pop” at No. 5, and “How It’s Done” at No. 8. The group further extended their reach with a surprise performance on “Saturday Night Live” on October 4, appearing alongside host and musical guest Bad bunny, who portrayed a superfan of Huntr/x.
