Kodak Launches Keychain-Sized Digital Camera, Tapping Into Collectible Tech Trend
Kodak has released the Charmera, a fully functional digital camera small enough to attach to a keyring - weighing just 30 grams and smaller than an AirPods case. The cameras, officially licensed through Reto Pro, are currently sold out after an initial launch that mirrored the popular “blind box” sales strategy seen with collectible toys like Labubu.
The Charmera arrives as interest in retro-inspired and miniature technology surges, offering a nostalgic nod to Kodak’s original single-use “Fling” camera from the 1980s.Sold as a blind box for $29.99 or a set of six for $179.94, the camera shoots 1.6-megapixel photos and 1080p video, complete with customizable Kodak frames, vintage filters, and a date stamp. While image quality isn’t expected to rival modern smartphones, the Charmera aims to deliver a fun, accessible, and collectible photography experience. Reto Pro anticipates restocking the cameras on its website following the initial sell-out.
