Bastian Pastewka, known for his comedic roles, is set to star as an unlikely detective in a German adaptation of Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out,” debuting soon on Amazon Prime video.
The series, titled “Krank Berlin,” features a robust ensemble cast alongside Pastewka, including tamara romera Ginés (“Cloud under the roof”), Anton Dreger (“Two Sides of the Abyss”), Barbara Philipp (“Vena”), Ercan Durmaz (“Homeland“), Mira Partecke (“Ass Cold”), Bernhard Schütz, Nicole Beutler (“Rickerl – music is at most a hobby”), Lena Dörrie, Knud Riepen (“House of Cards”), Marta Kizyma (“Police call 110”), Daniel Rodic (“The teacher”), Rabea Lüthi („biscuit Tin Blues”), Georg Paluza (“days with Naadirah”), and Magnus Krepper (“Damnation”). This german take on the whodunit format arrives as the “Knives Out” franchise continues to expand, with the latest installment, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” arriving in theaters November 27th and on Netflix December 12th. Speculation also surrounds a potential future case for Benoit Blanc that may not stream on Netflix.
