Kim Kardashian Attributes Law School Exam Struggles too ChatGPT
LOS ANGELES – Kim Kardashian has revealed she believes ChatGPT is to blame for her difficulties passing law school exams, according to a recent interview. The reality television star and aspiring lawyer, who completed a six-year legal apprenticeship and sat for the California bar exam in July, stated the artificial intelligence chatbot provided inaccurate information that negatively impacted her performance.
Kardashian, daughter of the late attorney Robert Kardashian, began studying law in 2018 through California’s Law Office Study Program, an alternative to customary law school. She publicly announced her legal ambitions in a 2019 Vogue interview and passed California’s “baby bar” exam in 2021 after three attempts. She completed her apprenticeship in May and is currently awaiting the results of the full bar exam.
“I definitely took the bar exam knowing that I was going to fail,” Kardashian said on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. “I had to do a practice essay, and I used ChatGPT, and it gave me a whole essay. I copy and pasted it, and it was wrong. I was like,’Oh my god,I’m going to fail.'”
She explained that she realized the chatbot’s errors after a proctor flagged the inaccuracies during a practice session. Kardashian added that she subsequently decided to rely on her own knowledge and understanding of the law.
The incident highlights the growing concerns surrounding the reliability of AI tools like ChatGPT in academic and professional settings. While offering potential benefits for research and learning, the technology is prone to generating incorrect or misleading information, often presented with a high degree of confidence.
Kardashian is currently awaiting her bar exam results.A passing score would allow her to practice law in California. She is also starring in the upcoming Hulu series All’s Fair, created by Ryan Murphy, where she plays an attorney alongside Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Sarah Paulson.
