Kalgoorlie Man Charged with Murder After Vehicle Homicide

Man Faces Court in Kalgoorlie Murder Case following Arboretum‌ Death

KALGOORLIE, WA – ⁤A 29-year-old man from Kalgoorlie is scheduled to appear in court today, charged with the murder of a 42-year-old man in the city’s West Lamington suburb. Western⁣ Australia Police’s Homicide Squad laid‌ the charges two ⁣days after the incident, which has shaken the Goldfields‌ community.

Police ⁤allege the ​accused deliberately struck the victim with a vehicle ⁤at approximately 1:35 am on Sunday. the victim, whose identity ⁣is currently being withheld, was discovered unconscious on Hawkins Street, near the popular Kalgoorlie Arboretum dog park. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead⁤ at the scene.

The delay in alerting ‌authorities is a key aspect of the investigation. While the incident reportedly occurred in the early hours‍ of Sunday morning,emergency services weren’t called to ⁤Hawkins Street until approximately 5:50‌ am – over ‌four⁤ hours‍ later.
