Julia Szeremeta will fight for gold in Paris

Julia Szeremeta advanced to the final of the 57 kg boxing category and secured herself at least a silver medal at the Paris Games. In Wednesday’s (7.08) semi-final, she defeated Filipina Nesthy Petecio on points 4-1 (28:29, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 29:28).

In the Saturday (10.08) final, Szeremeta’s rival will be Taiwanese Yu Ting Lin, who defeated Turkish Esra Yildiz unanimously in the semi-final.

This is the first Olympic final of Polish boxing since 1980, when Paweł Skrzecz won silver in the light heavyweight category in Moscow.
