Real Sociedad’s Aramburu Suffers Head Trauma, International Duty in Doubt
Elche, Spain - November 25, 2023 – Real Sociedad midfielder Jon Mikel Aramburu sustained a craniocerebral trauma during Friday’s LaLiga EA Sports match against Elche at the Martínez Valero stadium, the club confirmed Saturday. Aramburu received a kick from Elche’s John Donald in injury time and was afterward substituted for Elustondo.
The Venezuelan international suffered a important head wound and is currently under observation.According to the official medical report, Aramburu will remain monitored for the coming days, making his availability for Venezuela’s upcoming international break “almost ruled out.”
While Aramburu struggled defensively against Elche’s Adriá Pedrosa and Rafa Mir, and was pictured near Álvaro Rodríguez’s goal during the draw, he remains a key player for Real Sociedad manager Sergio Francisco. He has only missed one match this season, against FC Barcelona at Montjuic.
His participation in Real Sociedad’s match against El Sadar in two weeks is not currently considered to be at risk.
