Job Alerts: Sign Up & Find Your Next Opportunity | USAA

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

USAA is updating its job alert system, adding a comprehensive list of international country codes and area codes to its online application portal. The change, implemented this week, aims to streamline the application process for prospective employees located globally.

The online form now includes a dropdown menu populated with over 200 country codes, ranging from +1 for the United States and Canada to +299 for Greenland. Alongside this, a list of locations within the United States, encompassing major cities and smaller regional hubs like Chesapeake, Virginia, and Springfield, Missouri, has been added. Applicants are prompted to select a job category – options include Accounting and Finance, Marketing, and Information Security – and a preferred location before submitting their information.

The update follows a period of expansion for USAA, with increased hiring across multiple departments. The company’s website explicitly states that by submitting information through the job alert form, users acknowledge they have read and consent to USAA’s privacy policy and agree to receive email communications.

The inclusion of a broad range of country codes suggests USAA is actively seeking to broaden its talent pool beyond domestic borders. The company did not specify the impetus for the change, nor the number of international positions currently available.

The rollout of a new area code in Colorado, as reported by The Denver Post, is unrelated to USAA’s system update but highlights the ongoing changes in telecommunications infrastructure that necessitate accurate and up-to-date contact information for large organizations.

Separately, reports indicate increased scrutiny of unsolicited recruitment texts, with one individual detailing a bizarre experience after responding to a spam message from a purported recruiter, as reported by Slate. This trend underscores the importance of secure and verified application processes, such as the one USAA is implementing.

a surge in online curiosity regarding singer Harry Styles’ connection to a 586 phone number, as reported by The Detroit News, demonstrates the public’s heightened awareness of phone-based communication and potential security concerns.

USAA has scheduled no further announcements regarding its hiring initiatives at this time.
