Jim Cornette to Release “Heroes and Friends” Book with Rare Wrestling Photography
Wrestling manager and historian Jim Cornette announced the upcoming release of his new book, “Heroes and Friends,” detailing his experiences with iconic figures from wrestling history. The book, available exclusively at JimCornette.com, goes on sale Saturday, October 11, at noon Eastern time.
“Heroes and Friends” will feature extensive essays and remembrances of wrestling legends including Bobby Heenan,The Sheik,Bruno Sammartino,Ray “The Crippler” Stevens,The Dream Machine,Paul Bearer,Vader,Sputnik Monroe,Lance Russell,ron Wright,Boo Bradley (aka Balls Mahoney),and the Green Shadow,Pat malone. Cornette noted the book contains both previously shared and newly researched stories.
A key element of the project is the inclusion of rare photographs from Cornette’s personal collection,enhanced through modern printing technology. “the state of the art of photo printing in the last 45 years has changed a little bit. And I was gobsmacked,” Cornette said. He cited an example of a photo featuring Lance Russell and Dave Brown, were modern reproduction revealed details previously unseen. “It looks like a entirely different photo… you can see one of the gold molars in his mouth.”
The autographed book is priced at $24.95 and represents six months of writing and compilation by Cornette.”I have sat down and created a masterpiece,” he stated. “It ain’t too bad for a guy in his spare time.”
