Fukuoka, Japan - The Japanese women’s volleyball team continues to stun the world, securing a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing World Championship despite boasting a roster considerably shorter than their competitors. their quarterfinal victory over the Netherlands highlighted a remarkable display of skill and determination, proving that strategic play and team spirit can overcome physical limitations.Japan’s team stands out on the international stage for its lack of towering players. While many national teams rely on athletes exceeding 190 cm, Japan has only two players taller than 185 cm and three liberos measuring over 160 cm. This physical disparity hasn’t hindered their success; actually, they surpassed the Netherlands in net points during the quarterfinals, demonstrating a superior attacking strategy.
