Iranian Advocate Wins Prestigious Para Sport Volunteer Award

iranian Para Sport Advocate Sima Limouchi Honoured ⁢with International Paralympic Committee Award

Tehran, Iran – Sima Limouchi has been recognised ⁣with a prestigious International Paralympic⁤ Committee (IPC) Para Sport Award for her outstanding volunteer contributions to the Paralympic ‌Movement in Iran. The award celebrates individuals ‍who have ⁤significantly ​strengthened the impact of Para sport⁢ worldwide.

Limouchi’s ‌work as Head of Volunteers for Iran’s National‍ Paralympic Day demonstrably increased public engagement, notably through​ awareness seminars introducing Para sport ‍to ​new audiences. She further showcased her dedication to advocacy through participation in⁢ UNESCO commemorations of the International ⁢Day of persons ⁤with Disabilities. Beyond public outreach,Limouchi has played a key role ⁢within Iran’s Paralympic structure,serving on the National Paralympic Committee’s Advancement Committee and championing​ Para table tennis at the Asian Youth Para Games,while simultaneously fostering ‌inclusive sports programmes for children with disabilities at the grassroots level.

The IPC received over 200 nominations across 11 categories for the 2025 awards, recognising achievements ⁤between May 1, 2023, and March 31, 2025. IPC President Andrew Parsons stated: “Congratulations to the 11 remarkable‌ winners of the Para Sport Awards. Your achievements on and off the field of play have⁢ deservedly received global recognition and are a testament to the power of⁢ para sport⁢ to break ⁤barriers and transform lives.” He added, “These awards celebrate not just excellence in performance, but‍ leadership, advocacy, and⁣ the commitment⁤ to inclusion.Thank you for ‌showing ‍what ⁤is absolutely possible​ and for helping us build a more inclusive society through Para sport and the Paralympic Movement.”

the Para‍ Sport Awards, presented biennially, this year honoured‌ recipients from 10 nations across Africa, ⁤the americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, highlighting the global reach and diversity​ within the Paralympic Movement.
