Iran Crisis: Trump, Revenge, Regime Change & Khamenei – Latest Updates

Former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Mohsen Rezaei, issued a warning on X stating that any “hostile” action against Iran would result in the destruction of Israel, U.S. Bases and regional stability. The statement came in response to remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the killing of protesters in Iran.

Rezaei accused the United States and Israel of attempting to destabilize Iran, drawing parallels to the situations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya. He characterized Trump’s statements as aligning with an agenda to create insecurity within Iran. “Any hostile action will destroy the Zionist regime, US bases and regional stability. This time, it will be different,” Rezaei wrote.

The exchange follows a recent warning from Trump to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and armed forces, demanding they surrender or “face certain death.” Trump’s call for surrender, reported on February 27, 2026, signaled a “major” operation in Iran, according to reports.

The warnings from both sides escalate tensions following unrest within Iran. The specific events triggering Trump’s initial statement, and the identities of the protesters referenced by Rezaei, remain unconfirmed. However, the exchange highlights a heightened state of alert and potential for conflict.

The IRGC, the elite arm of the Iranian military, has not publicly responded to Trump’s demand for surrender as of March 2, 2026. The U.S. State Department has not issued a statement clarifying the nature of the “major” operation referenced by Trump, nor has it commented on Rezaei’s threat.
