iOS 26.1 Brings Expanded Language Support, Custom Workouts, and Interface Refinements
Warsaw, Poland - October 30, 2025 – Apple has released a Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 26.1,bringing a suite of new features and improvements to iPhone users. The update focuses on expanding accessibility with new language support for Apple Intelligence and Live translation, alongside enhancements to core apps and subtle refinements to the operating system’s visual design. A final public release is expected within the next few days.
iOS 26.1 builds upon the foundation of iOS 26, continuing Apple’s commitment to iterative improvements and expanding the capabilities of its mobile platform. The update introduces several key features designed to enhance user experiance, from personalized fitness routines to more customizable accessibility options.
Key features in iOS 26.1 include:
* Expanded Apple Intelligence Languages: Support for Chinese (Traditional),Danish,Dutch,Norwegian,Portuguese (Portugal),Swedish,Turkish,and Vietnamese.
* Live Translation via AirPods: New language support for Chinese (traditional and simplified), Japanese, and Korean. Note: This function is not available in Poland.
* Haptic Notification Control: Users can now disable haptic feedback for making or ending calls via a new toggle in the Phone application.
* Custom Workouts in Fitness: The Fitness app now allows users to create personalized workouts, specifying training type, estimated calorie burn, intensity, duration, and start time.
* Accessibility – Display Borders: A new “Display borders” option in accessibility settings replaces the previous “button shapes” setting, adding a border to all buttons.
* Interface Updates: minor interface changes have been implemented in photos, Calendar, Safari, and Phone applications.
* Refined Liquid Glass Interface: The light refraction effect around applications has been subtly adjusted with darker icon and background colors.
* Settings Wallpaper update: The Display section in Settings now features the iOS 26 wallpaper, replacing the iOS 18 wallpaper.
* Lock Screen Wallpaper Instructions: Instructions for setting a lock screen wallpaper now appear briefly and disappear,rather than remaining constantly displayed.
The iOS 26.1 RC was released on October 28, 2025, and is available to developers. The final version of iOS 26.1 is anticipated to be released to the public shortly.
