Inverness Intercollegiate: Ohio State Women’s Golf Travels to Toledo

Buckeyes ⁢Compete at Historic Inverness Club This Week

TOLEDO, ‍Ohio ‌- the⁣ Ohio State women’s golf team travels to Toledo⁢ this week ​to compete ​in⁣ the inverness ​Collegiate at the renowned Inverness Club, marking the⁤ second tournament of the 2024-25 ⁤season. Competition​ begins Monday ‍at one of the nation’s⁤ most prestigious⁤ golf venues.

The Buckeyes will field a team comprised of Sophie eppelstun,Mandy‍ Song,and Kary Hollenbaugh,while Marina Joyce-Moreno will participate as an individual. This event offers an early-season test⁤ against a competitive​ field and provides valuable experience at a‌ course with a rich⁤ championship history, ‌including hosting four U.S. Opens and the 2021 ⁤Solheim Cup. Inverness‌ Club is also slated to ‍host ‌the 2027 U.S. Women’s ⁤Open and the 2029 U.S. ⁤Amateur.

Ohio State ‌is‍ coming ⁤off a strong​ showing at the Folds of Honor Collegiate,where senior ⁣Kary ‌Hollenbaugh secured ⁤a top-10 finish‌ – the ​15th ⁣of her career – after ⁣carding a ​final-round 71 (-1)⁤ and finishing at 2-over par. Hollenbaugh’s consistent‌ performance‌ anchors a buckeyes ⁤squad recognized⁢ for its ‍overall talent.

Adding‍ to the team’s accolades, ⁤Hollenbaugh, Nellie Ong, and Joyce-Moreno have all been named to the Big Ten Players to Watch‍ List, signaling‌ their potential to⁣ be key contributors throughout the ⁤season. Following ​the Inverness Collegiate, Nellie Ong will represent England at the Espirito⁣ Santo ⁢Trophy, part of the World ‍Amateur Team Championships, October 1-4, 2025, in Singapore.
