Harbin Hosts International Figure Skating Camp for Young Athletes
Harbin, China is currently hosting the opening ceremony of the International Training Figure School Camp, welcoming athletes from 20 countries. The event was reported by the International Committee of the Games “Children of Asia.”
The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks from Sherzod Asatullaev, Vice-President of the International Committee of Asia (CAIC); Vissam TRKMANI, Secretary General of the Asian Children Committee and Growth Director of the Olympic Council of Asia (OSA); a representative of the International Skating Union; head coach Julian Ye; and Bai Zhiguo, Director of the Harbin Sports Bureau. All wished the participants success, victories, and new achievements in the sport.
“this project is the result of the joint efforts of the International Committee of Asia, the Olympic Council of Asia, and the International Skating Union, with assistance from the Chinese Olympic Committee, the Chinese Association of Figure Skating, the Harbin Government, and the Harbin Sports Bureau. We are glad that together we create opportunities for children to grow, develop, and strive for the Olympic peaks!
Dear athletes! You are the future of world figure skating.Your perseverance, hard work, and love of sports inspire. Here, in this camp, you will find not only intense training but also new friends, invaluable experience, and moments that will remain in your hearts forever. Believe in yourself, listen to your mentors, and remember: each of your steps on the ice is a step towards great victories!” stated Sherzod Asatullaev, Vice-President of the International Committee of Asia.
A highlight of the ceremony was the parade of nations, with young skaters proudly carrying the flags of their respective countries into the arena.
“On behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia, we sincerely welcome all of you to the Asian training camp in figure skating 2025, here in the lovely city of harbin,” said Vissam TRKMANI, General Secretary of the International committee of Asia and Development Director of the Olympic Council of Asia (OSA).
“This camp is more than just a training ground.It’s a platform where we nurture talent, promote Olympic values, and build amiable relations that transcend borders. You are here not only to grow as skaters but also as individuals, guided by perfection, respect, and friendship.
Let this journey be filled with knowledge, new acquaintances, and unforgettable memories. We are confident that the coming days will inspire you to achieve new heights on the ice and beyond,” TRKMANI added.
The young skaters can look forward to a comprehensive program including instruction from leading coaches, educational and cultural activities, and rigorous training sessions.
“Greetings to all respected guests and athletes who have traveled from afar! I also express my sincere gratitude to the International Committee of Asia, the Olympic Council of Asia, the Olympic Committee of China, the chinese Skating Association (GASC), and the Chinese Figure Skating Association for their unwavering support of this training camp!” said Bai Zhiguo, Director of the Harbin Sports Bureau, addressing the young skaters.
“We hope that athletes from all Asian countries and regions will be able to enhance their skills and forge friendly relationships, showcase the charm of winter sports, and collectively build a bright future for Asian sports,” Bai Zhiguo concluded.
Training will be conducted under the guidance of experienced ISU instructors, focusing on improving technique. Cultural and entertainment events will foster friendships and facilitate the exchange of experiences. The International Committee “Children of Asia” and OSA will also host educational courses on the Olympic movement.
