IKEA Launches ‘Phone Sleep Collection’ to Curb Bedtime smartphone Use
Dubai, UAE – IKEA UAE is piloting a novel campaign aimed at promoting healthier sleep habits by offering customers a miniature bed designed specifically for smartphones. The “Phone Sleep Collection” incentivizes users to disconnect from their devices before bed, rewarding consistent “bedtime” for their phones with a voucher.
The campaign centers around a small-scale replica of a conventional bed where customers place their smartphones for a minimum of seven hours each night. an integrated NFC chip, linked to the IKEA app, verifies adherence to the seven-hour timeframe. Successful completion of a week-long trial earns participants a 100 dirham (approximately 23 euros) IKEA voucher.
Currently, the miniature bed is a promotional item available to customers who spend over 750 dirhams (approximately 175 euros) at any IKEA store in the UAE, with the requirement of purchasing at least one item from IKEA’s complete Sleep Collection – including sheets, pillows, or duvets.
While the promotion is presently limited to the United arab Emirates, IKEA has expressed intentions to explore similar initiatives in other markets. the company has not yet announced plans to bring the “Phone Sleep Collection” to Europe.
