K-Pop star HyunA Collapses Onstage in Macau, Shares Apology With Fans
MACAU – K-pop singer HyunA collapsed during her performance at the Waterbomb Macau festival on Sunday, November 9th. The 33-year-old fainted while performing her hit song “Bubble pop,” and was assisted offstage by security.
Hours after the incident, HyunA addressed fans via Instagram, expressing her regret and concern. “I’m truly, truly sorry…I wanted too show you a great performance, but I don’t feel like I was professional, and to be honest, I don’t remember anything,” she wrote in a post. She further apologized for disappointing fans who had traveled to Macau and purchased tickets to the show, referring to her fanbase, A-ings.
HyunA assured fans she is recovering and committed to improving her stamina. “I will try to build my stamina and consistently work hard in the future,” she stated. She concluded her message with gratitude for her fans’ continued support, writing, “Don’t worry about me! I hope everyone has a good night…sleep well!!”
The cause of the collapse remains under inquiry, though it comes after HyunA publicly announced a diet plan on October 3rd, subsequently revealing a 10kg weight loss on November 4th.The Korea Times reports that HyunA has a history of vasovagal fainting and has previously stated her stamina decreases when her weight drops below 45kg.
