One of the priorities of the government of Claudia Sheinbaum It has been to advise huachicol of gasoline and its financial gains. For several years, this illegal business had been punctured to Pemex’s pipelines to become an integral, in which organized crime groups participate, federal, state and municipal officials, workers of the oil company, politicians, legislators, businessmen, customs agents, among others.
This Monday, the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, in charge of Omar García HarfuchHe announced that in a coordinated operation between federal and state forces, 129 tanks were secured with more than 15 million liters of fuel of illicit origin in two points of Coahuila, which meant the largest confiscation in the president’s administration Claudia Sheinbaum.
These 15 million liters are added to the 880 thousand liters confiscated a few days ago in Tabasco. What a paradox: it is the state where the former president was born and grew Andrés Manuel López Obradorwho after reaching the presidency one of his first actions was to decree the end of the crime of gasoline huachicol. The crusade against the illicit generated panic among the consumers who crowded the gasoline stations and the only thing that was achieved was an environment of impunity, because the crime, far from ending, multiplied.
Therefore, in the current six-year term the figures have been increasing: in the period June-Julio several Huachicol networks were dismantled and a clandestine refinery was closed in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, (the place where the former secretary of Energy and current Governor of the State, Rocío Nahlepresume to be a native) in which less than a month ago just over 3 million liters of fuel illegally were confiscated.
To have an idea of the billionaire business around huachicol, In its “traditional” modality, that is, the milking of ducts, Pemex reported in 2024 losses for more than 20 billion pesos for direct fuel theft, while between 2019 and 2022 that figure added 76 billion pesos.

In Morena there are many cases that relate to the crime of Huachicol, where the United States government has decided to put the eye of its investigations regarding organized crime of Mexico.
The most recent case has to do with Morena’s senator, Olga Patricia Sosa Ruizwho recently confirmed that his mother made a deposit of 30.5 million pesos through Vector Casa de Bolsa, one of the three institutions indicated by the United States Department of the Treasury to launder money for organized crime.
The argument of the Morenista legislator is that this inheritance was due to the sale of shares of a company from her grandfather, and said she did not know and never have seen Alfonso Romothe owner of vector and former head of the former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
However, the timeline of said inheritance generates doubts. In 1997, the alleged “inheritance” originated that, according to the senator, gave rise to the millionaire deposit. These are unspecified actions of a company that lies in the Mexican Stock Exchange.
In 2017, service provider Murata SA DE CV carried out 53 operations with vector for around 97.6 million pesos. Then, the Ministry of Finance identifies Murata as a facade company used by the Sinaloa cartel.
In November 2021 they murdered the businessman Sergio Carmona In Nuevo León, accused of huachicol and finance political campaigns. Suba Sosa admits that Carmona, through a friend, helped hire the singer Julión Álvarez for its campaign closure to the mayor of Tampico. Sosa lost the choice and denies irregular financing.
In December 2021, Hacienda disabled Murata after checking her function in washing networks. By May 2022, 20 days after the election in Tamaulipas, Olga Sosa’s mother deposited 30.5 million pesos in vector, in an nominative check. The transaction was carried out during electoral effervescence. Sosa did not report the fact publicly and the operation was leaked later.
Between 2023 and 2024, vector was indicated by the US Department of the Treasury for money laundering. It is linked to drug trafficking networks and structures of the Sinaloa cartel. In September 2024, Ovid Guzmán López declared himself guilty in the United States. In return, I would have delivered key information about banks, stock market houses and narco financial structures. Vector, Cibanco and Intercam were mentioned as institutions used to wash money and move resources to buy fentanyl precursors.
A few days ago, the Attorney General of the Republic initiated a formal investigation into operations with vector. The transaction made by Olga Sosa’s mother entered the radar. Sosa was demarcated and assured that his mother’s money comes from an inheritance, and accused that the filtration of the file was illegal, however, he did not present documents that prove origin, nor the company issuing the actions.
Finally, the SAT reported that it will summon the Senator’s mother to prove with documents the origin of the 30.5 million pesos, since they were not reported as income in their annual fiscal statements.
And the question is: the Sheinbaum government, pressed by the US, is indeed by all politicians, businessmen and others involved in huachicol and organized crime, or is it only a simulation?
