O WhatsApp will soon get a new desktop app on Windows 11 and on Windows 10. Meta (formerly Facebook) added their app to the Microsoft Store earlier this month and it’s now officially available for beta testing. O WhatsApp UWP, it turns out, is based on XAML and WinUI. The company is believed to have scrapped Electron-based web components to improve performance. The app can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and 11, but is still in beta stage.
