How to install the new WhatsApp UWP Beta app on Windows 11 and Windows 10

O WhatsApp will soon get a new desktop app on Windows 11 and on Windows 10. Meta (formerly Facebook) added their app to the Microsoft Store earlier this month and it’s now officially available for beta testing. O WhatsApp UWP, it turns out, is based on XAML and WinUI. The company is believed to have scrapped Electron-based web components to improve performance. The app can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and 11, but is still in beta stage.

According to reports, the performance of the new desktop version of WhatsApp is better compared to the web. Also, its design is similar to the app for Windows Phone and the web platform. Unfortunately, as it’s still under development, the app still lacks advanced features such as status support.
