Honor Launches Magic V6 Folding Smartphone in Taiwan
Honor launched its flagship folding smartphone, the Magic V6, in Taiwan on September 30, bringing a 6660mAh battery and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor to the local market, according to reports from Eprice, Bella, and Nova. The device is offered in two color options, Danxia Red and Snow White, featuring an octagonal geometric camera module design. The Danxia Red version utilizes sustainable tech suede material and measures 156.7 × 74.5 × 9 mm when folded and 156.7 × 145.6 × 4.1 mm when unfolded, with a weight of approximately 224 grams including the battery. The Snow White version employs an aerospace-grade special fiber back cover measuring 8.75 mm folded and 4 mm unfolded, weighing roughly 219 grams.
Honor Offers Pre-Order Incentives and Trade-In Bonuses
The device is available in a single 16GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration, priced at NT$65,990, as reported by Eprice and Nova. Honor offered pre-order customers and buyers purchasing devices on the October 3 launch day various promotions through official channels. Eprice and Nova detailed that these incentives included Wei Chuan Dragons championship baseball game tickets, an art-limited back cover, and a designated trade-in bonus of up to NT$10,000 running through October 31. Additional promotional offerings detailed across official channels included a large backpack set valued at NT$3,290, an exclusive Honor gift box valued at NT$990, and a queue-up reward consisting of Wei Chuan Dragons championship game double tickets alongside a Crimson Art limited back cover valued at NT$6,890 for customers completing pre-orders and picking up devices on October 3 at official experience stores or pop-up shops.
Magic V6 Features Durable Hinge and Water Protection
According to Nova and Eprice, the Magic V6 features the self-developed Luban shield-structured steel hinge with a 2800MPa rating, alongside an aerospace-grade special fiber back cover on the snow-white model achieving 5800MPa. The hardware passed SGS 50,000-fold durability tests and secured SGS five-star drop resistance certification, paired with IP68 and IP69 dust and water protection ratings. Eprice noted the device measures 8.75mm in thickness when folded in the snow-white colorway and weighs approximately 219 grams. The IP68 and IP69 certifications allow the phone to withstand immersion in 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes, as well as resist 80°C hot water and high-pressure water jets, while the structure supports a 1.5-meter drop resistance test.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Powers High Resolution Cameras
The smartphone operates on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform running MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, backed by a 6660mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 66W wireless charging, as reported by Eprice and Nova. Photographic hardware includes a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and CIPA 6.5 anti-shake certification, alongside 20-megapixel front cameras on both interior and exterior screens. The exterior screen features a 6.52-inch Honor Black Diamond display with a 6000nits peak brightness, 4320Hz PWM dimming, and a 1 to 120Hz refresh rate, while the interior screen measures 7.95 inches with an impact-resistant panel, 5000nits peak brightness, 4320Hz PWM dimming, a 1 to 120Hz refresh rate, and an AR anti-reflective coating to reduce glare and reflection in outdoor environments.

AI Tools Automate Meeting Summaries and Document Polishing
The Magic V6 incorporates several artificial intelligence capabilities, featuring an AI meeting assistant that provides automatic recording, real-time speech-to-text transcription, speaker identification, smart reminders for keywords or specific speakers, and automated generation of meeting summaries, chapter overviews, and mind maps. An AI document tool further supports rapid text summarization, polishing, expansion, and structured mind mapping for lengthy files. While technical performance places the hardware among top-tier offerings, industry observations highlight that Honor’s launch in Taiwan occurred in July following a March release in China, positioning the arrival later than competing regional releases and omitting participation in the industry’s contemporary “crease-free” marketing trend.
