Comedian Hong Hyun-hee Reveals 3-Day Fasting Method Behind 16kg Weight Loss
Comedian Hong Hyun-hee (43) recently shared details of her weight loss journey, including a three-day fasting regimen, on her YouTube channel. The revelation comes after the star successfully lost 16kg and garnered public attention for her transformation.
Hong Hyun-hee explained she challenged herself to a three-day fast,consuming only liquids. However, she cautioned against indulging in unhealthy choices, recounting a recent experience where eating jokbal (pig’s feet) promptly after a fast resulted in a skin breakout. “Don’t eat delivery,” she advised.
While a three-day liquid fast can lead to rapid weight loss, experts caution that much of this initial loss is likely water weight and muscle mass, with limited fat reduction.Severe calorie restriction can also cause fatigue, headaches, dizziness, and a decline in metabolism, posing risks for individuals with pre-existing health conditions or low physical strength.
Regarding liquid intake during a fast, health professionals recommend prioritizing options like electrolyte supplements, mineral water, herbal tea, and green tea – beverages that support hydration and metabolism with minimal caloric impact. Sugary drinks, sodas, and fruit juices are discouraged due to their potential to spike blood sugar and hinder fat loss.
Hong Hyun-hee’s post-fast jokbal indulgence highlights the importance of careful re-feeding. Experts suggest starting with easily digestible foods like clear porridge, vegetable soup, bananas, boiled potatoes, and baked vegetables. Gradually incorporating lean proteins (tofu, egg whites, white fish) and complex carbohydrates (brown rice, sweet potatoes, oats) is recommended for sustained results.
