Indonesian U-23 Striker Hokky Caraka Issues Legal Summons to Instagram Users Amidst online Criticism

Jakarta – Hokky Caraka, a promising young attacker for the Indonesian U-23 national team and PSS Sleman, has taken a significant step by issuing a formal summons to five Instagram accounts. The move comes after the 20-year-old player faced a barrage of critical comments following his team’s goalless draw against Malaysia in the AFF U-23 Cup.

Caraka, who featured in both of Indonesia’s matches in the tournament without registering a goal or assist, found himself the subject of widespread online commentary. While acknowledging the public’s right to express opinions, Caraka, along with his girlfriend jessica Rosmaureena, has opted for legal recourse against specific accounts deemed to have crossed a line.

The summons, published via Caraka’s official Instagram account, @hokkycaraka_, targets users identified as @fhdiarya_, @antoniusadji, @jokojoko1988, @xwidiyanto, and @royprayoga. The open letter demands a direct apology from each of thes individuals within a specified timeframe.

“If within the period as mentioned above there is no positive response and direct apology from the owners of the Instagram account to us, then we will make legal efforts by making reports to the police,” the statement read. It concluded with a formal declaration: “Thus we submit this summons/open reprimands to the owners of the Instagram account mentioned above.Sincerely, we Hokky Caraka And Jessica Rosmaureena.”

This action highlights a growing trend of athletes and public figures utilizing legal channels to address online harassment and defamation, notably in the age of social media where criticism can quickly escalate.
