Ho Chi Minh City Receives Global Recognition for Tourism Marketing
Ho Chi Minh City has been awarded the “Excellent Tourism Marketing Award” by the Global Cities Tourism Promotion Association (TPO) at their 2024 awards ceremony. The award recognizes the city’s successful tourism marketing efforts and contributions to brand building as a travel destination.
The TPO awards, presented to member cities, celebrate achievements in tourism marketing, innovation, lasting tourism, and leadership. The Tourism Marketing Awards specifically acknowledge innovative and sustainable strategies aimed at enhancing a city’s travel brand.
Ho Chi Minh City’s winning campaign, “Find Your Vibes,” was lauded for effectively showcasing the city’s dual identity – a rich cultural heritage alongside its status as a modern, dynamic megacity. The campaign’s success is attributed to its creative storytelling, global reach, and strategic partnerships, earning recognition from the international travel community.
According to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Tourism Ministry of Ho Chi Minh City, ”We are very proud to get the Excellent Tourism Marketing Award. This award confirms the right direction in choosing a method of close cooperation between state administrative authorities, tourism companies and the community.” She further explained that this collaborative approach enabled the progress of high-quality tourism products and effective marketing campaigns, strengthening the city’s position on the world tourism map.
The TPO Best Awards were established to acknowledge innovative tourism policies and efforts to increase city brand value. Organizers noted that the “Find your Vibes” campaign invites visitors to explore the city’s unique character, stories, and experiences, highlighting the blend of tradition and modernity.
Ho Chi Minh City shared the award in this category with Taiping (Malaysia), recognized for its 150th-anniversary campaign, and Taichung (China), honored for the Lantern Festival 2024.
