Hanmi Science Launches Global Expansion of Medical Device Business at MEDICA 2025
Düsseldorf, Germany – November 13, 2025 – Hanmi Science, the holding company of Hanmi Group, today announced a major push into the global medical device market, beginning with the promotion of its surgical hemostatic agents at the MEDICA 2025 exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, November 17-20. The company aims to forge partnerships and expand its international footprint with a focus on key markets in Europe, the middle East, and Asia.
hanmi Science will showcase three surgical hemostatic agents developed by biosurgery specialist Terracion Biomedical, for which it holds overseas sales rights. These core products include: ▲Oozfix, an absorbable powder-type auxiliary hemostatic agent; ▲Tableau Wax, a poloxamer-based absorbable bone hemostatic agent used in CS, OS, and NS surgeries; and ▲ActiClot, an active hemostatic agent combining thrombin in a starch-derived polymer matrix.
The products are distinguished by their exclusion of animal-derived ingredients, utilization of safe, starch-based materials, and rapid hemostatic effect, positioning them as competitive offerings in the global market. ActiClot, delivered via a prefilled syringe for ease of use, is designed to decompose within three days, minimizing potential side effects like inflammation and foreign body reactions.
“Participating in MEDICA this time will be an crucial chance to promote the excellence of Korea’s medical devices to the global market,” stated an official from Hanmi Science’s Medical Device Division. “We will strengthen Hanmi Science’s position in the global healthcare market and continue to expand our business base in overseas markets, starting with three types of hemostatic agents.”
Hanmi Science is responsible for both domestic distribution and international export of these products and will be actively seeking collaborations with distributors and hospital officials at the expo.
This expansion of the medical device business is part of Hanmi Science’s broader strategy to build an integrated healthcare portfolio encompassing surgical medical devices, cosmetics, health functional foods, a consumer health platform, and the pharmaceutical-based derma cosmetic brand ‘PRO-CALM’.
