Hamilton and Piastri Face Super License penalty Points⁤ After São Paulo Grand⁢ Prix Incidents

The São Paulo Grand Prix saw both Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri ​receive penalty points on their⁢ super licences following separate on-track incidents. These penalties bring both drivers closer ​to potential race bans, as per FIA regulations.

Hamilton’s ​Race Cut‌ Short by Collisions

Piastri’s⁢ Incident at Safety Car Restart

Oscar piastri faced scrutiny for a ‌collision ⁢with Kimi⁣ Antonelli ⁢during a safety car⁢ restart. The incident subsequently involved‍ Charles Leclerc,‍ who was forced ‍to retire⁤ from the race.⁤ Piastri ‍was deemed responsible for the collision by race stewards and received a 10-second time penalty served during a pit stop. More ​substantially, he was handed two penalty points on his super licence, bringing his total⁢ to six within‍ the past 12‍ months.

Tsunoda ⁢Also Receives Penalties

Yuki⁢ Tsunoda ⁢also incurred penalties during ‍the São Paulo Grand Prix. He received two penalty points on his ‍super licence after​ contact with Lance Stroll, raising his ⁢total to seven.

FIA⁣ Sporting‍ Regulations state ‌that a​ driver accumulating 12 penalty ​points within ​a 12-month period will face an ⁤automatic race ban.
