Greg Van Avermaet says goodbye to grandfather Kamiel Buysse (86) | Cycling

Sad news for Greg Van Avermaet’s family. The rider and his loved ones mourn grandfather Kamiel Buysse. The former rider died at the age of 86.

Van Avermaet has golden cycling genes, both his grandfathers were deserving riders, just like his father Ronald Van Avermaet. We got to know the physical resemblance between Greg and Kamiel at Van Avermaet’s Olympic title in 2016. Sporza then ran a repo at the home of grandpa and grandma.

Kamiel Buysse, born on July 8, 1934, was a professional cyclist from 1958 to 1964. In 1959 he rode the Tour de France with the national team.
