Grand Theft Auto VI’s Launch Pushed to November 2026
Fans anticipating the next installment in the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto series will have to wait longer.Rockstar Games announced today,November 6,2025,that Grand Theft Auto VI will now be released on Thursday,November 19,2026-a delay of nearly a year from its previously announced May 26,2026,target.
The latest postponement marks a meaningful extension to an already lengthy development cycle, frustrating a global fanbase eager for the highly anticipated title. Originally unveiled on December 4, 2023, Grand Theft Auto VI was initially slated for a late 2025 release before being moved to May 2026. This new delay means nearly three years will pass between the game’s first announcement and its eventual arrival, underscoring the complexities of delivering a product meeting Rockstar’s enterprising quality standards.
“We regret adding additional time to what we know has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game to the level of quality you expect and deserve,” Rockstar Games stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The delay impacts not only gamers but also Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, and the broader video game industry, where Grand Theft Auto VI is projected to be one of the most significant releases in history.
