TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Governor Ron DeSantis has announced appointments to the Florida inland Navigation district (FIND),the state agency responsible for maintaining and improving a navigable waterway system spanning over 1,500 miles. The appointments, revealed today, include Tom Morgan, alongside the reappointment of Steve Boehning, John “carl” Blow, and James ”Buddy” Davenport.
The Florida Inland Navigation district plays a critical role in the state’s economy and recreational opportunities, overseeing the Atlantic Intracoastal waterway and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. these waterways support commercial shipping,recreational boating,and tourism. Confirmation of the appointments by the Florida Senate is pending.
tom Morgan,a retired executive,previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer for the Miami-Dade Parks,Recreation,and Open Spaces Department,having also served as Senior Region Manager and Park manager within the same department.He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University and a master’s degree in parks and recreation management from Florida International University.
Steve Boehning, owner and Principal Engineer at Coastal Waterways Design and Engineering, is also a member of the Florida Floodplain Managers Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Widener University and a master’s degree in ocean engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
John “Carl” Blow, Owner of Great Oaks Properties, is actively involved in his community through his service on the City of St. Augustine planning and zoning Board and the Florida Bar’s Seventh circuit Grievance Committee. A United States Navy veteran, Blow holds bachelor’s degrees in real estate and building construction from the University of North Florida.
James “Buddy” Davenport, President of Buddy davenport Insurance Agency, Inc., previously served on the New Smyrna Beach Utilities Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the university of Arkansas.
