Ireland‌ Secretly Donates Air Defense Radar ⁤Systems to Ukraine, Supplementing Swedish Missile ​Support

DUBLIN – ⁢ In a notable, yet previously undisclosed move, the Irish goverment has donated‍ advanced air defence ⁣radar systems to Ukraine ⁢earlier this year, responding to a direct request from Kyiv. While maintaining ‌its official policy of providing only non-lethal aid, the donation represents Ireland’s most ample contribution ⁢yet to Ukraine’s defensive⁢ capabilities⁣ against Russia’s ⁣ongoing invasion.

The transferred equipment consists of Saab Giraffe Mark ⁢IV radar systems, designed to integrate with ground-to-air missile launchers. Crucially, Ireland did not donate the missile launchers themselves, adhering to its stated commitment to non-lethal assistance.
