While Hertha BSC scored their first win of the season in Bochum and Gladbach against Bielefeld on Sunday, Frankfurt has to wait for it. Bayern prevailed in the top game in Leipzig on Saturday evening. Before that, Leverkusen and Dortmund had offered a spectacle.

Gladbacher double strike pulls Bielefeld’s teeth
Borussia Mönchengladbach has the last of three Sunday games the only home win on the 4th Bundesliga matchday. In the 3-1 win against Bielefeld, the foals managed to break free at home. Captain Stindl led the way with a double pack (35th, 69th), Zakaria finally pulled the guests’ teeth (72nd). Overall, the Arminia, in which Okugawa had ensured the interim equalization in stoppage time in the first half, made a good away game, but lacked the necessary coolness in front of the opposing goal. With four points now, Gladbach jumps to eleventh place.
Serdar’s double pack brings Hertha victory on the way
Hertha BSC scored the first points of the still young season at VfL Bochum without shining too much, taking some pressure off coach Pal Dardai. The decisive man on the way to the away win was Serdar, who scored two goals in the first half (37th / 43rd). In the second, however, the Bochum defense provided kind assistance. After the change, VfL drew hope again after Zoller’s goal (59th), before Hertha newcomer Maolida wrapped up the 3-1 away win on his Bundesliga debut (78th). Speaking of debut: The 17-year-old Linus Gechter made his debut with the Berliners after the break.
Despite the Kostic goal and the majority: Frankfurt doesn’t win again
Eintracht Frankfurt, on the other hand, did not achieve their first victory of the season in the fourth attempt. It looked good for the Hessians after the opening goal of Kostic (79th), who was welcomed with whistles and applause on his substitution, and the dismissal against VfB defender Anton (82nd / emergency brake). But in a dramatic final phase, new signing Marmoush, who had already set a few offensive pinpricks in the game, equalized for the Swabians (88th), who were still supported by goalkeeper Müller and luck well into stoppage time when Borré shot a crossbar. In the end, VfB took a somewhat lucky away point with them.
Joker Musiala with the decisive moments – third bankruptcy for Leipzig
On Saturday afternoon the spectacle between Leverkusen and Dortmund (3: 4), on evening the intense top game between Leipzig and Bayern. The runner-up RB and the record champions from Munich fought a brisk exchange, which the guests from the Isar deservedly won 4-1. The Nagelsmann-Elf struck in the crucial moments – Lewandowski converted a hand penalty (12th), which Kampl caused frivolously. And they struck right after the break – a few seconds after the restart, Joker Musiala made it 2-0 (47th), before Silva’s subsequent goal was denied because the Portuguese was offside (52nd). All the more bitter that shortly afterwards Sané went one better after Musiala’s pass (54th). Now it could have been very bitter for the Saxons, but the march team came back through Laimer’s hammer in the corner (58th). RB wanted to start catching up, but Bayern remained stable in the overall network – even with Sabitzer, who replaced Goretzka after an hour. In stoppage time, Choupo-Moting made it 4-1. For Leipzig it was the third defeat in the fourth game, while the Munich team are second for the time being.
Haaland has the last answer – Dortmund wins after three deficit at Bayer
The duel between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon kept what it promised due to the high-class cast of both teams. Leverkusen relied on lightning-fast switching football and was twice successful. First Wirtz took the pike for Bayer leadership (9th), shortly before the half-time whistle, the young international put it through to Schick, who scored the second goal for the Gerardo Seoane team with a low shot (45th + 1). In the meantime, however, the Borussia had been able to equalize with Haaland’s precise header (37th) – and the Norwegian almost prepared the 2-1 for BVB through Bellingham, but the Englishman’s header was collected after checking in the review area. Immediately after the restart, the wild ride continued – Brandt took the ball with the heel and hit the leather from a slightly acute angle under the bar to equalize again (49th). But only six minutes later, Diaby had another answer ready and with his right gave Leverkusen the third lead (55th). The BVB rallied briefly and came through Guerreiro’s fantastic free-kick to equalize again. Shortly afterwards, Bayer’s new signing Kossounou met BVB captain Reus in the face in the penalty area – and referee Daniel Siebert went to the review area again – a penalty worth discussing was the result. Haaland started and took the lead for the first time in this spectacle (77th) – and this lasted until the end of the six-minute stoppage time.
Nmecha and Weghorst ice cold – Wolfsburg keeps its clean slate in Fürth too
Meanwhile, VfL Wolfsburg kept its clean slate, the Lower Saxony won their fourth league game and thus defended the championship lead against FC Bayern, among others. Mark van Bommel’s eleven were ice cold in their exploitation of chances at Greuther Fürth, because Nmecha took advantage of a confusion in the middle Franconians in the defense in the 10th minute and got the opening goal. As a result, VfL played the game to the end in a controlled manner from a very strong, but hardly required defensive. Although the Fürth in their actions in the second section were a little more pleasant, but the Leitl-Elf could not spray any serious danger except for a spectacular overhead kick from Abiama, which Casteels parried. In stoppage time Weghorst closed the sack with a penalty and made it 2-0. Fürth is still waiting for the first win of the season.
Ten and by own goal: Cologne leaves points in Freiburg
1. FC Köln stays on track and is happy about a point – just one point – at the so far undefeated SC Freiburg. Modeste achieved the lead for the Baumgart-Elf with a precise header in the first section (33rd) – the Frenchman thus underpinned his upward trend from the past few weeks. The “Effzeh” almost increased before the break, but Uth only hit the post. It was only in the second round that the Breisgauer were a little more energetic on the offensive, but in the end Christian Streich’s team remained too little compelling for a long time. Then, however, Kainz flew off the square with the traffic light card (74th) – and the SC smelled the morning air for the final quarter of an hour. The sports club worked its way more and more in front of the Cologne goal and was then rewarded with an own goal by Czichos, who unluckily pushed a cross from the newly substituted Weißhaupt into his own goal (89th).
Burkardt’s hit from the turn is enough for the Mainz team
The Mainz team celebrated their third win of the season in Hoffenheim. The FSV went in front with a nice goal from Burkardt when the striker hit from the turn with a low shot (21st). The Kraichgauer acted too cumbersome on the offensive and barely had any deals in the first section. In the second round TSG got a little better, but the FSV didn’t allow much. Rather, the Svensson-Elf made the second goal for the zero fives to 2-0 final score through Joker and newcomer Ingvartsen (formerly Union Berlin).
Zero number between Union and Augsburg – Berliners hit Alu three times
Union Berlin and FC Augsburg split goalless – but the zero number was one of the better ones. The Iron, who failed three times because of aluminum, had a lot of bad luck. The guests from the Fuggerstadt are waiting under the returning coach Markus Weinzierl after four match days for the first sense of achievement (only two points).
