German General Warns Russia is Rebuilding Forces, Preparing for Wider European Conflict
Riga, Latvia - A German Army General, Alexander Zolfrank, has warned that Russia is actively preparing for a potential new war in Europe, even as its invasion of Ukraine continues. In an interview with The New York Times, Zolfrank detailed how Moscow is not simply sustaining its war effort in Ukraine, but is concurrently restructuring and modernizing its armed forces for future conflicts.
Zolfrank’s assessment comes at a critical juncture as European nations debate defense spending and strategies. The general’s warning underscores the urgency of bolstering European defenses, arguing that a failure to act decisively could lead to a hazardous imbalance of power. The implications extend beyond Ukraine, perhaps threatening the security of the entire continent.
according to zolfrank, Russia is consistently improving its military capabilities, replenishing personnel and equipment reserves, and developing advanced weaponry. “The Russian army is restructuring its ground forces even as the offensive continues. They are constantly learning,” he stated. This includes incorporating lessons learned from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine into new tactical schemes.
The general emphasized the need for immediate action to counter Russia’s preparations. “We should support Ukraine or do anything else necesary to reduce Russian pressure,” Zolfrank urged. He expressed concern that while Putin is actively strengthening his military, Europe remains focused on long-term defense planning and internal funding disputes.
Zolfrank’s stark warning – “Russia will win” – reflects his belief that without a unified and resolute response, Europe risks facing a substantially stronger and more prepared adversary in the near future.
