Ganja Celebrates Uzeyir‌ Hajibayli’s 140th Anniversary with Festival Concert

Ganja,Azerbaijan – A concert honoring ⁢the 140th anniversary of renowned Azerbaijani composer uzeyir Hajibayli ⁣was ⁢held at the Ganja State Philharmonic on September 26th as part ⁤of the XVII International ‍Musical Festival named after him.⁤ The festival, organized by the⁤ Heydar Aliyev Foundation⁤ and the Azerbaijan Ministry of‌ Culture, is a significant cultural⁣ event ⁤for the⁤ nation.

People’s Artist and composer Aigun Samedzade, director of the Ganja State Philharmonic,‌ opened the⁤ program with welcoming remarks to the audience. Guelar Huseynova, a ​teacher at the Ganja State University regional College, ⁢followed with a speech emphasizing ‍the ⁤importance ‍of the anniversary and Hajibayli’s contribution to national culture.

The evening⁣ featured ‌a performance by the orchestra‍ of folk instruments, led by ⁢artistic director ‌and conductor Hayal Gahramanov.The ensemble presented both classic works by Hajibayli and modern musical‍ interpretations based on ​Azerbaijani national heritage.

Organizers ⁤stated the festival aims to popularize Azerbaijan’s rich musical heritage and foster cultural dialog.‍ the XVII International⁢ Musical​ Festival named after Uzeyir Hajibayli runs from September 18-28, ​encompassing⁣ events in ‍over 10 Azerbaijani cities and regions, as well as international performances in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Vienna (Austria),‍ Berlin ⁣(Germany), and Ankara (Türkiye).
